The Bonafide XTR140P is a 14-foot fishing platform built for anglers who refuse to choose between pedals and a motor. It comes motor-ready from the factory and can take Bonafide’s X-Range pedal drive, so you can run a motor to cover water fast, then switch to pedals to work a school quietly.

With 725 lbs of capacity and a walkable open deck, it fishes more like a bass boat than a kayak.

Who the XTR140P Is For
This boat fits serious anglers, especially tournament guys and anyone who runs heavy electronics. If you carry multiple graphs, big batteries, a live scope setup, and a motor, the 725 lb capacity and giant deck handle it. For the battery, I recommend the WattCycle 12V 100Ah mini LiFePO4 battery with Bluetooth — it runs most 12V trolling motors up to 55lb thrust plus a fish finder, and it’s compact and light. It’s also great for bigger anglers who want real room to move. If your idea of fishing is a minimalist paddle trip, this is more boat than you need.
Stability and the Walkable Deck
Stability is best in class. The 40″ wide open-water hull with a 22″ x 33″ elevated bow casting platform lets you stand, walk the 24″ x 80″ open deck, and fight fish from anywhere on the boat. The elevated bow also gives you a drier ride in rough water while keeping the draft shallow enough for skinny areas. Fourteen oversized drainage scuppers shed water fast when waves come over the side.
Seat and Comfort
The Pivot Pro swivel seat rides on a 42″ adjustable track, so you can slide it to trim the boat and swivel to face any direction. That’s a real advantage when you’re working a bank or watching a graph behind you. The seat height gives you a good casting position, and it converts to a tandem angler setup if you ever want to bring someone along.

Storage and Rigging
Rigging flexibility is off the charts. Power Link install points at the bow, midship, and stern give you clean, drill-free electronics wiring. There are multiple transducer mounting spots, monitor mount locations at the side rail and forward deck, and grab rails midship for sonar or extra rod storage. Below the deck sits a high-volume storage compartment, and the stern has long-term storage for the X-Range drive or gear. Multiple motor mount configurations work with foot or hand steering, including a Springblade rudder system.
Pedal and Motor Performance
The efficiency-optimized hull was designed for both pedal and motor power. The X-Range pedal drive with remote steering and two stow positions lets you pedal hands-free, then stow the drive without giving up deck space. Add a stern or bow motor and the foot-steering capability keeps you in control. The hull is shaped to get more range per battery charge and less effort per pedal stroke, which matters on long tournament days.
Honest Drawbacks
This is a big, heavy boat. At 170 lbs for the fitted hull and 185 lbs fully rigged, you need a trailer. Full stop. It’s also a premium-priced platform, and adding the pedal drive is an extra cost. At 14 feet, it’s not the boat for tiny creeks or tight launches. And with all this capability, there’s a learning curve to rigging it well.
