What’s in this video

I’ve fallen a few times trying to get into a kayak from my in-laws’ dock, and I’ve cut myself on oysters doing it. I already own a Kayak Launch at my place, so I got them one and filmed the install to show how easy it is.

I start by prepping the dock, then drill and line up the holes, assemble the launch and mount it. It only takes 4 bolts. At the end I secure everything and show the launch in operation, so they can get in and out of their kayaks a lot easier and safer.

Key moments

  • 0:00 Preparing the dock
  • 1:10 Drilling and alignment
  • 3:00 Assembling the launch
  • 5:48 Mounting to the dock
  • 7:34 Securing and final operation

Quick takeaways

  • The launch mounts to the dock with just 4 bolts
  • Take time on drilling and alignment before you assemble and mount it
  • A dock launch keeps you from slipping off the dock and onto oysters
