A subscriber asked about the Tightline anchors I kept seeing on new kayaks at ICAST 2018, so I filmed them up close.

What’s in this video

Tightline anchors were all over the new kayaks at ICAST 2018, and a subscriber asked me to film them and get more info. These are lightweight, corrosion resistant, durable anchors designed for paddlecraft, and they’re now making bigger ones for power boats too.

I go over the anchor itself, then the Zap Strap and the Anchor Wizard. The craftsmanship is top notch and it feels well made. It’s crazy that a 13 oz anchor has a 650 lb rating.

Key moments

Quick takeaways

  • The small Tightline anchor weighs 13 oz and carries a 650 lb rating.
  • They're built to be corrosion resistant, which matters if you fish saltwater.
  • Tightline also makes larger anchors for power boats.
