Homemade Milk Crate Kayak Cart With Removable Wheels
I make a milk crate kayak cart whose wheels come off and store in the hull, so I don't have to pack a separate cart.
What’s in this video
Carrying a cart and a milk crate on a kayak gets cumbersome, and a cart strapped to the back can get in the way of fishing lines. So I combined them. This milk crate kayak cart uses appliance cart wheels on a 5/8″ by 24″ threaded rod, a nut and washer kit, and a large kids pool noodle.
I cover the wheels and then the axles. The best part is that the wheels come off easily and store in the hull, so I save space and weight on the kayak and get the best of both worlds.
Key moments
Quick takeaways
- The wheels remove and store in the hull, so there's no bulky cart to pack.
- Supplies: appliance cart wheels, 5/8" x 24" threaded rod, a nut and washer kit, a milk crate and a pool noodle.
- It keeps a cart off the back of the kayak, where it can get in the way of fishing lines.
