What’s in this video

This drop in tower went on my personal kayak and it won’t be going anywhere else. It expands my rod holders, adds lighting, and gives me spots for anchor and camera mounting. Everything I need is nice and close, and the rack can change to fit what I need.

I go over the bed liner coating, the solar lights, magnetic strips and the light setup. The tower is built from 1.25″ PVC and fittings, with 1.25″ to 1.5″ threaded adapters for mounting the two lights. It’s tied into the seat mount so it won’t fall out if the kayak flips (which is unlikely).

Key moments

Quick takeaways

  • The tower is built from 1.25" PVC tubing and fittings; two 10 ft sections should cover it.
  • 1.25" to 1.5" threaded adapters mount the two lights.
  • Tie the tower into the seat mount so it stays put if the kayak flips.
