FeelFree Dorado: First Look at a Kayak with Pedal and Motor Drive
I get a first look at the new FeelFree Dorado, a fishing kayak that packs both a pedal drive and a motor into one clean design.
What’s in this video
I got to check out the new FeelFree Dorado. It’s 12 feet 5 inches long, 38 inches wide and weighs 100 pounds. It comes with a pedal drive, and you can add the Overdrive motor system on top of that. At the time of the video, it was $2999 with pedals and about $1300 more for the motor, with availability that winter.
The cathedral style tri-hull and rudder give it good displacement, tracking and a lot of stability. The motor has a battery management LCD readout, and the sound level running it is about what I’ve heard from other brands. What I like most is that the pedals and motor are integrated and take up very little room. It’s a very clean design. FeelFree also hinted they’re looking at a 32 inch wide offshore model.
Quick takeaways
- Dorado specs: 12 ft 5 in long, 38 in wide, 100 lb.
- Price at the time of the video: $2999 with pedals, about $1300 more to add the Overdrive motor.
- The motor has a battery management LCD readout, and the pedal and motor system takes up very little deck space.
