Two seasons in, here’s my honest list.
BUY AGAIN:
1. Rail-mounted phone holder. Maps and photos without digging through a dry bag.
2. Anchor trolley kit. Being able to slide the anchor point from bow to stern changed how I fish current.
3. A good blunt-tip PFD knife like NRS makes. Used it twice on tangled line. Worth every penny. The NRS one I have doesn’t rust.
4. Stake-out pole. Quieter than an anchor in skinny water, and it doubles as a push pole.
5. A dry bag variety pack. The 5L one lives in my crate permanently.REGRET:
1. A cheap paddle leash. It tangled on everything, including me. Replaced it with a simple paddle clip on the hull.
2. A suction-cup camera mount. It lasted exactly one choppy day.What’s on your never-again list?

Hard agree on good quality leash. I usually use a leash for my fishing rods. I’ve noticed some of the cheap ones tangled up real bad but some of the nicer ones have a material that slides against each other and doesn’t not or entangled as easy.
For me, I would never buy again the Railblaza uniport track mounted camera boom! The uniport wouldn’t stay locked and I I nearly lost my camera at iCAST multiple times. I would buy another YakAttack camera boom mount with the locknload base because it works really well.I didn’t even know that they made suction cup camera mounts. That seems to be just begging for a disaster. Haha.

I can’t think of any regrets off the top of my head (I tend to overthink before I buy 😂). But I absolutely second good quality paddle and rod leashes!
For the kayaks I’ve had that don’t have a good paddle clip built in, I like the Yak Attack Double Header – and I still leash the paddle (throwback to my touring kayak days on the ocean and fast rivers)-

Absolutely! I think a good paddle is the #1 overlooked item when people buy a kayak. They spend all the money on a kayak and then buy the cheapest paddle possible which often destroys the experience. When you are swinging a paddle hundreds of times per mile you feel the regret of cheaping out on a paddle! Haha
