The billet aluminum shaft and blade are spring loaded, so the rudder locks down and retracts if it hits something underwater. It sits deeper in the water for more turning and tracking control. It is designed to work with the BerleyPro T-Lock Steering Upgrade; with the stock steering disc, the rear plate needs a hole drilled for the cord.
