Spirit 1.0 Evo was the first electric outboard with hydrogeneration, and ePropulsion lists about 22 miles at 4.5 mph on one charge. You can order it with or without the Spirit battery and choose tiller or top mount remote throttle. It can also run from an E-Series battery for longer days.
Specs at a glance
- Power: 1 kW (3 HP equivalent)
- Input voltage: 39-60V
- Shaft: short (24.6 in)
- Motor weight: 11.3 kg (24.9 lb)
- Battery: 1276 Wh, 8.7 kg (19.2 lb), optional
- Charging: 8.5 hrs standard, 3.5 hrs fast charger
- Propeller: 11 x 5.8 in 2-blade composite
Good to know
- Check your selections: battery and throttle control are separate options, and “No Controls” means no tiller or remote.
- For all-day trips, ePropulsion suggests running an E-Series battery in place of the integrated Spirit battery.
KayakDIY take: It’s a portable dinghy motor rather than a kayak motor, but it packs a lot into a small unit. For kayak options, see my best kayak motors guide.
