You can use it two ways. Drop it over the side with the included tie-off and float, or install the trolley kit to move the anchor point along the hull. The trolley lets you set the boat at the angle you want for casting instead of swinging off one side.
Specs at a glance
- Included: anchor and trolley kit
- Over-the-side use: tie-off and float
- Trolley use: adjustable anchor point along the hull
Good to know
- Start with the over-the-side setup and add the trolley kit when you have time to install it.
- Keep a knife within reach whenever you anchor so you can cut free if the boat gets pulled by current.
KayakDIY take: An anchor trolley is one of the more useful DIY rigging jobs on a fishing kayak. For more on setting one up, see my kayak anchor system guide.
