These straps use 1″ UV-resistant polyester webbing with cross-box stitching and a galvanized cam buckle with a center spring. A molded rubber protector and neoprene cover keep the buckle from scuffing the hull or vehicle. They are sold in pairs and offered in several lengths.

Good to know
- Pick the length by measuring over the boat and around your crossbar; too long leaves a lot of loose tail to tie off.
- Tie off the loose tail so it can’t flap against the paint at speed.
KayakDIY take: I would rather spend a little on good straps than trust a boat to cheap ones on the highway. For more options, see my fishing kayak accessories guide.
