The Forge uses a powder-coated steel frame with six adjustable bunk positions, so it can be set for many hull shapes. Two-piece cam straps hold the boat down, the 16 in Never-Go-Flat tires roll on sealed bearings, and a spring-loaded kickstand steadies the cart while you load. The frame breaks down for transport.
Specs at a glance
- Load capacity: 300 lb (136 kg)
- Weight: 18 lb (8.1 kg)
- Dimensions: 30 x 16 x 19 in
- Frame: powder-coated steel
- Tires: 16 in airless
- Included: adjustable frame with load straps, 2 airless tires, manual
- Warranty: lifetime limited
Good to know
- Set the bunks to match your hull before strapping, so the load rests on the bunks and not the frame.
- At 18 lb it is heavier than most aluminum carts, so expect to leave it at the launch rather than stow it aboard.
KayakDIY take: Big airless tires are what I’d want for a heavy, fully rigged boat on rough ground. For more transport gear, see my fishing kayak accessories guide.
