TelosXL attaches temporarily to the carriers and uses self-locking vertical ratchets and padded steel cradles to lift the kayak up to rack height. Ground-level adjustable extensions keep it off your sheet metal. Once one boat is loaded, you can detach it, move it to the other side for a second kayak, or store it in the trunk.

- If you want to keep other carriers, Malone offers a separate Universal Roof Rack Adapter for the Telos XL.
KayakDIY take: Lifting a kayak overhead alone is how boats and backs get hurt, so a lift assist makes sense. For more gear, see my fishing kayak accessories guide.
