The Boonedox Outfitter mounts in the truck bed with four J-bolts and has extenders that adjust to most bed sizes, then retract when you don’t need them. It shields the rear glass during loading and still lets you open the tailgate fully, so the truck stays usable with the rack installed.

Specs at a glance

  • Capacity: kayaks up to 13 ft long and 115 lb
  • Mounting: four J-bolts, no drilling
  • Fit: most truck bed sizes, retractable extenders
  • Features: rear glass protection, full tailgate access

Good to know

  • Check your kayak’s length and rigged weight against the 13 ft and 115 lb limits before you buy.
  • Use bow and stern lines or a flag on any overhang, and confirm local rules for loads that stick out past the bumper.

KayakDIY take: A no-drill rack is a good fit if you want to keep your truck bed clean. For more ways to haul and rig a kayak, see my fishing kayak accessories guide.
