The YP-UMP48 plugs straight into any Yak Power system with its SAE connector, so there is no splicing. It has fast charging for two devices at once, a voltmeter to keep an eye on the battery, and a trim plate for surface mounting in tight spots. With the rubber cap closed it is rated IP66.

Specs at a glance

  • Model: YP-UMP48
  • Outputs: USB-C and USB-A (QC3.0)
  • Display: integrated voltmeter
  • Wire: 4 ft, 18 AWG with SAE plug
  • Mounting hole: 1 1/8″
  • Waterproofing: IP66 with cap closed
  • Protection: over voltage, over current, reverse polarity, short circuit

Good to know

  • You will need a 1 1/8 inch hole to flush mount it, or use the trim plate for a surface mount.
  • Keep the rubber cap closed when not charging, since the IP66 rating depends on it.

KayakDIY take: A voltmeter on the dash is a simple way to keep track of how much battery you have left. For more options, see my fishing kayak accessories guide.
