Animated Lure: A Battery Powered Lure That Swims Like Live Bait
I found the Animated Lure at iCAST, a battery powered lure that swims on its own and looks a lot like real live bait.
What’s in this video
At iCAST, a crowd kept gathering around one tank, and kids were glued to it. It was the Animated Lure, a battery powered lure that swims like live bait, and people were nearly mistaking them for real fish.
They’re water activated, so they swim when they hit the water and shut off when you pull them out to save power. They were easy to charge and ran about two hours per charge in the water. The props are replaceable and were cheap at the time. If you run out of live bait, this is a nice backup, or maybe even a main option. I plan to test some out.
Quick takeaways
- The lure turns on in water and off out of water to save battery.
- Expect roughly two hours of swim time per charge.
- Rinse it with fresh water after using it in salt, like any lure.
