What’s in this video

At ICAST I stopped at Boonedox to show what they make. They have cooler wheels for Yeti style coolers and sand stakes for surf fishing, but the kayak stuff is what I came for. I actually run their stern mount on my Hobie Pro Angler. I didn’t even know who made it at first. It attaches to the plate that covers the rudder lines and the handle, and you can use it for a Power-Pole Micro or, like I did, a transom mount with a trolling motor.

Their landing gear is wheels mounted right to the kayak. They flip up when you’re on the water, so you never have to take them off. There are track mounts built in for more accessories, and a battery bay holder attaches to the landing gear for a clean setup.

Up front they have a center console that bridges the two gunnels so your sonar sits where you can see it. Inside, a bracket on the Hobie accessory mount holds your battery and sonar parts up out of any water in the hull. There’s also a bow mount setup. And the T-Bone lets you haul long kayaks in a short bed pickup. I have several. Everything is built well. Buy it once and you’re done.

Key moments

Quick takeaways

  • The Boonedox stern mount on a Hobie Pro Angler can hold a Power-Pole Micro or a transom trolling motor mount.
  • The landing gear wheels flip up on the water, so you don't need a separate kayak cart.
  • A bracket on the Hobie accessory mount keeps your battery and sonar parts up out of water in the hull.
  • The T-Bone hitch extender supports longer kayaks in short bed pickup trucks.
