DIY Rubberized Fishing Net: Testing Plasti-Dip and Flex Seal
I show how I make and rubberize mesh fishing nets, and which coatings worked best after I tested several products.
What’s in this video
This one covers how to make nets and rubberize mesh nets for kayak fishing. I started with a folding fishing net, the kind several makers sell, and tested a few different coatings on the mesh.
Here’s what I found. Plasti-Dip spray worked best. Flex Seal was OK. Bondo rubberized undercoating works well on PVC projects, but not on netting. If you want a tennis racket style fishing net, just buy the replacement nets I link in the description.
Quick takeaways
- Plasti-Dip spray was the best coating for rubberizing a mesh net.
- Flex Seal was OK, but not as good as Plasti-Dip.
- Bondo rubberized undercoating is better saved for PVC projects than netting.
