What’s in this video

This garage storage setup for kayaks works really well. It’s the Racor PHL-1R Pro HeavyLift, a ceiling mounted hoist rack with a 4 foot by 4 foot platform. My friend Mike from the FossilID channel uses it to keep his kayaks out of the way when he’s not using them.

A winding axle and vinyl coated steel cable raise and lower the platform, and it lifts and stores up to 250 pounds without a ladder. It has heavy duty steel support beams, needs some assembly, weighs 76 pounds and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.

Quick takeaways

  • The Racor PHL-1R lifts and stores up to 250 lb overhead without a ladder.
  • It uses a 4 ft x 4 ft platform on a cable and winding axle, and assembly is required.
