New 2017 Hobie Kayaks at ICAST: Camo and the Mirage Drive 180
I check out Hobie's 2017 kayak lineup at ICAST 2016, from new camo options to the Mirage Drive 180 with reverse.
What’s in this video
This is my footage from ICAST 2016 in Orlando, where I got a look at what Hobie was bringing for 2017. The big news was the Mirage Drive 180 with reverse, plus new camo kayaks and more across the pedal lineup.
Some context: Hobie wasn’t sponsoring me when I made this. I owned a 2012 Hobie PA14 at the time and sold it soon after to save for a Tandem Island. I was told I could probably get on the Hobie Fishing Team, but I’d only be able to promote Hobie products. I said no, because I want to keep showing gear for every budget and stay transparent with you. No regrets.
Quick takeaways
- The 2017 Hobie lineup added the Mirage Drive 180 with reverse.
- Camo color options were new for the 2017 Hobie kayaks.
- I wasn't sponsored by Hobie when I filmed this, so the opinions are my own.
