Kayak Go-Kart Build: A No-Drill Motorized Water Go-Kart
I share a fast floating go-kart build made from a kayak, a cheap trolling motor and a go-kart steering wheel, all with no drilling.
What’s in this video
This water go-kart build is fast, and I love that it’s a no-drill design. We saw Brett’s viral Facebook post and reached out to him for footage of the build. The parts are simple: a Sun Dolphin Aruba kayak, a 30 lb thrust trolling motor, a go-kart steering wheel, C-clamps, winch relay and switch kits, and a deep cycle battery.
Before you build one, know that some places require kayak registration and specific safety equipment once you add a motor. DIY at your own risk, but have fun.
Quick takeaways
- The whole build clamps together, so nothing gets drilled into the kayak.
- The 30 lb thrust motor used was listed at $95 at the time of the video.
- Check your local rules, adding a motor can mean registration and extra safety gear.
