Native Titan X Pedal Fishing Kayak: First Look at ICAST
I take a walkaround look at the new Native Titan X pedal fishing kayak at ICAST, with a focus on motor-ready rigging and storage.
What’s in this video
At ICAST I got a close look at the new Native Titan X. It comes in a 12.5 and a 10.5, in three color options (I really like the blue). The bow has a sharp entry and a big grab handle, but the bigger deal is up front: a MotorGuide Xi3 quick release mount, so adding a bow trolling motor is easy. There are PowerLink e-plates in the bow, middle and stern for running electronics wiring.
The front hatch is split into two compartments, one good for a battery and transducer gear, the other a removable tray. Underneath there’s a big transducer pocket for the newer sonar systems. They even had two sonars mounted on one boat in the showroom.
It runs the 701 series Propel drive, which is proven and built well. There’s rod tip storage in the bow for mangroves and low trees, a junk drawer under the seat for soft plastics, and a 360 swivel seat so you always face the action. A lot of anglers asked for that. The side tracks double as grab handles and Plano box holders, and there are Power-Pole mounts in the back. The rudder is recessed under the hull so it won’t snag your line, has a big blade, and there’s a sacrificial drag plate on the bottom.
Quick takeaways
- A MotorGuide Xi3 quick release mount in the bow makes adding a trolling motor simple.
- PowerLink e-plates in the bow, middle and stern make wiring electronics cleaner.
- The recessed rudder resists line snags, and the sacrificial drag plate protects the hull when you drag it.
- The 360 swivel seat lets you turn to face fish without repositioning the kayak.
