YakGear Cratewell: Turning a Milk Crate Into a Kayak Livewell
I build a kayak fishing milk crate with a YakGear Cratewell so I have a livewell, bait tank and rod holders behind my seat.
What’s in this video
A milk crate is one of the most useful things you can put on a fishing kayak. In this one I set mine up with the YakGear Cratewell, which turns the crate into a livewell and bait tank.
I add rod holders to the crate and run a Baby Bubbles aerator to keep the water moving for bait. It’s a simple build that gives you storage, rod holders and live bait in one package that sits right behind you.
Quick takeaways
- The YakGear Cratewell turns a standard milk crate into a livewell and bait tank
- Add rod holders to the crate to keep rods within reach
- A small aerator like Baby Bubbles keeps the bait alive
