What’s in this video

I’ve been taking this Bluetti Elite 200 V2 everywhere. It already saved the day once when a paddle board pump broke and I needed to charge my camera and fishing gear from the back of the truck. We also lost power during the hurricanes, so I wanted to see what it can really run at home.

Straight out of the box at 67%, I plugged in a 1,500 watt kettle and it handled it. With two TVs running it showed 18.9 hours of run time. On the AC input it charges at up to 1,800 watts, and it also takes up to 1,000 watts of solar. The display is easy to read: inputs and outputs right there, plus an app to monitor it.

Then I went for the job site test. A sander and other power tools ran fine, and it showed we could run them for over an hour. To overload it I stacked heating elements. Kettle, burner and air fryer together pushed it to about 3,194 watts and it shut off to protect itself. On a second try it held around 3,863 watts, close to the 3,900 watts it’s rated for in its boost mode.

I have batteries and an inverter that can kind of do this, but they’re way clunkier. This is 53 lb in one box with handles. For camping, storms or handyman work, it’s a lot simpler.

Key moments

Quick takeaways

  • Heating elements are what push it to its limit; electronics like TVs and laptops barely dent it.
  • It charges at up to 1,800 watts from an outlet and takes up to 1,000 watts of solar input.
  • When you overload it, it shuts itself off to protect the unit instead of failing.
  • It weighs 53 lb in one package, which beats hauling a separate battery and inverter.
