GoBoat: Round Inflatable Boat with a Center Trolling Motor
I check out the GoBoat at ICAST, a round inflatable boat with a trolling motor in the middle that had everyone smiling.
What’s in this video
The GoBoat is a 70 inch round inflatable disc that looks like a donut, and it’s about as fun. At ICAST every person who got on it had a blast, spinning in circles, playing bumper boats, or trying to fish from it. You can stand on it, so it works as a sight casting platform. I saw an early version about a year before and didn’t get it. This version made sense. I can see it as a dinghy for sailboats and liveaboards, a family boat, or something resorts would pick up.
Up close it has Scotty 241 mounts on the deck for rod holders and other accessories. The frame holds two U1 batteries and locks them in. It weighs 57 pounds without batteries, holds 300 pounds, and is rated for a 0.5 horsepower motor. It’s drop stitch, the same material as my inflatable paddle board, which I’ve run over with my truck. At the time of the video, pricing was around $1,000 for the 70 inch version and around $680 for the kid version.
