Testing a Prototype 1100 Watt Torqeedo Motor on a Bonafide Kayak
Jeff Little and I test a prototype 1100 watt Torqeedo motor on a Bonafide kayak, with way more power than their usual kayak motor.
What’s in this video
Jeff Little and I talk about and test a crazy motor from Torqeedo. This isn’t their 403 series that you see on most kayaks. It’s a prototype 1100 watt motor, over twice the power, and we put it on a Bonafide kayak.
Torqeedo builds electric motors for big boats, not just kayaks, so it’s cool to see that power scaled down to a kayak. There was no price yet. Based on what their smaller 403 and Travel 1003 models cost, I expected it to land well over $2000.
Quick takeaways
- This was a prototype, not the 403 series most kayak anglers run.
- At 1100 watts it's more than twice the power of Torqeedo's typical kayak motor.
