Kayak Pods and Mods: Homemade Motorized Viking Fishing Kayak
I mod the big tackle pod on my Viking Profish Reload Z into a motor pod with a Watersnake trolling motor and accessory mounts.
What’s in this video
Ever since I got the Viking Profish Reload Z, I looked at that huge tackle pod and wondered how to get the most out of it. So I drafted some ideas and got to work modding my pod.
I gather materials, mount accessories with Railblaza StarPorts and a TracPort Dash, then take apart a Watersnake T24, cut the motor shaft shorter and install it in the pod. I seal it with marine epoxy, wire the controls and do final assembly. I also run a Humminbird Helix 5 SI fishfinder. Big thanks to YakGear for the gear.
