Hurricane Ian Floods Our Cape Coral Home While I'm Stuck in Iowa
This is a raw update as Hurricane Ian storm surge floods our Cape Coral canal home while my daughter and I are stuck in Iowa.

I don’t make videos like this, but this is real. Hurricane Ian’s storm surge was pushing water up to our Cape Coral house, and some of our kayaks had already broken loose. The power was down so I lost my security camera feed, and the footage came from a neighbor who stayed. My daughter and I were in Iowa, and my wife was there in the storm. I didn’t want to call her too much and drain her phone. With high tide still coming, I expected the water to get fully into the house. Even my truck tire exploded that morning.
I also share messages from a friend in my neighborhood watching my house, and a clip from Fort Myers Beach showing surge running off the beach, through a hotel and up to the street. Everything we have is in that house, so I don’t know what’s next for us or the channel. We need your prayers.
