The Moki I uses a rigid high-pressure drop-stitch floor with two nylon side pontoons, three air chambers in all, for better tracking than a basic inflatable. It ships with a removable spraydeck and sprayskirt for cooler or choppier days, plus a 9 inch removable tracking fin. It is aimed at lakes, bays, inlets and calm coastal touring.

Specs at a glance

  • Length: 12 ft
  • Width: 36 in external
  • Weight: 37 lbs
  • Capacity: 500 lbs
  • Air chambers: 3 (2 pontoons plus drop-stitch floor)
  • Packed size: 29 x 14 x 13 in
  • Included: EVA seat, removable spraydeck, sprayskirt, Nano Barrel pump, carry bag, repair kit

Good to know

  • Inflate the side pontoons to about 2.5 PSI and the drop-stitch floor to 4.5 PSI; an under-inflated floor is the main reason inflatables feel soft and slow.
  • Twelve stainless D-rings give you tie-down points, so pack gear in dry bags and clip them in rather than letting them ride loose.

KayakDIY take: A drop-stitch inflatable is a solid answer when storage or transport is the thing keeping you off the water. For more options, browse all my kayak reviews.
