The LockDown strap uses polyester webbing, which has higher break strength, less stretch and better UV and water resistance than common polypropylene straps. A custom rubber cover over the cam buckle cushions it against the boat and vehicle when you throw the strap over and cinch it down on a roof rack or trailer.
Specs at a glance

- Webbing: polyester

Good to know
- Order at least two, since most kayaks need one strap at each crossbar.
- Put a few twists in the strap between the bars to cut down on wind hum at highway speed.
KayakDIY take: Good cam straps are one of the cheapest upgrades to how you haul a boat. For more gear, see my fishing kayak accessories guide.
