These use 1″ UV-treated polypropylene webbing that won’t stretch when wet and the NRS cam buckle with dual stainless springs. A removable polyurethane bumper wraps the buckle without getting in the way. The strap size is printed on the buckle, and the buckle has a bottle opener built in.

Good to know
- Pick 12′ or 15′ for most single kayaks on a roof rack; longer straps help with two boats or tall racks.
- Put a twist in any long unsupported section of strap to stop it humming in the wind at speed.
KayakDIY take: A bumper over the buckle is cheap insurance against chips in the paint or the hull. For more options, see my fishing kayak accessories guide.
