What’s in this video

My first impression of the Bonafide was comfort. It feels like sitting in a recliner in your living room. It paddles great in the high seat, tracks straight and gets up to speed with little effort. Initial stability is ok, but secondary stability from the aggressive tri-hull is insane, and I felt confident moving around the deck.

I really liked the removable center sonar pod, and I think it might even work for a DIY trolling motor setup. The boat I paddled was a prototype with 3D printed parts. Since then the production model has come out, and it’s incredibly well made. I think it’ll be a solid competitor to the Wilderness Systems ATAK.

Quick takeaways

  • SS127: 12'7", 75 lbs, 475 lb capacity, $1,599 MSRP at the time.
  • SS107: 10'7", 67 lbs, 425 lb capacity, $1,299 MSRP at the time.
  • Secondary stability is very strong, so standing and moving around feels secure.
  • The removable center sonar pod could work for a DIY trolling motor mount.
