Bonafide XTR130: First Look at Bonafide's Biggest Fishing Kayak
At the Bonafide booth at ICAST 2024, their head of design walked me through the new XTR130, their biggest platform yet with a standable upper deck.
What’s in this video
At ICAST 2024 I stopped at the Bonafide booth to see the new XTR130 with Hans, their head of design. It’s their biggest platform yet, with 700 lb of capacity, and the idea is that you can fish it the way you’d fish from a bigger boat, including sight fishing from up high.
You can motorize at the bow (they had a MotorGuide Xi3 up front), at the stern, or both at the same time, and route your wiring through the boat. The standout is what they call the upper deck, a fully standable platform you can also use for monitors. There’s a 360 swivel seat, foot braces for stern steering, a 24 x 65 walkable deck, room to add rod storage on the outside, and space up front for a 100 amp hour battery.
It also goes tandem. Pull the upper deck off with four bolts, add a second seat, and two anglers can face each other with a cooler or tackle in the middle. You can also run a tiller motor at the stern. The price given was $2,799 at the time of the video, with a launch planned for that October.
Quick takeaways
- Capacity is 700 lb, and you can motorize at the bow, the stern or both, with wiring routed through the hull.
- The upper deck is built for standing, and it comes off with four bolts so you can add a second seat for tandem fishing.
- There's room up front for a 100 amp hour battery.
