What’s in this video

This is a live recording on the VoyaX Mossa 128. The drive system is not simple, it looks pretty technical, but it works and I have not had issues with it. One thing I noticed: when the drive is in the up position, the top catches water like a giant cup. It also faces the sun. I left it out for a whole day in the Florida sun and through a thunderstorm with water pooled on it. Nothing happened. I’m kind of the test dummy here, and it’s not breaking.

People keep asking me for cons. I’m looking. So far it’s a buy it and go package, you don’t really need accessories unless you’re picky about your sonar. The seat is comfy with a nice fabric padding, the fittings feel solid, and I can’t find a spot of rust anywhere on this kayak. That’s a pet peeve of mine, so that’s good.

A lot of people don’t know the control unit flips upside down for storage. You turn a lever and the whole thing flips so it doesn’t get damaged. The trick is getting the little cable into its groove. There’s plenty of room in the back too. I have a 65-can cooler back there with space behind it. Then I kick it from assist mode three up to four, ride some little waves, and answer viewer questions from the water.

Quick takeaways

  • The drive sat raised in full Florida sun and a thunderstorm with water pooling on it, and it had no damage.
  • The control unit flips upside down for storage with a lever. Seat the small cable in its groove when you flip it.
  • A 65-can cooler fits in the rear storage with room left behind it.
  • The fittings showed no surface rust after use, which is a common annoyance on other kayaks.
