What’s in this video

At ICAST 2021 there weren’t many kayak companies, so I went looking for clever fishing products. I found the Pole Caddy booth and met Taylor, the inventor and owner. He’s a young entrepreneur around my age who loves DIY, and this video is not sponsored. I just wanted to show him some support after a hard year for small businesses.

The car window is usually what kills rods and breaks tips. Here it’s the solution. You put the adapter on your window, close the window and lock it down. Little suction cups grab the glass, and then you lock your rods in place with a regular padlock.

What I like is that it lets you transport longer rods that won’t fit inside a lot of vehicles, so it’s a great fix for smaller commuter cars. When you get to your spot, you pull it off the window and carry it to the water, and it becomes a rod rack. Simple and practical.

Quick takeaways

  • The Pole Caddy clamps in a closed car window with suction cups and locks rods with a standard padlock.
  • It lets small cars carry rods that are too long to fit inside.
  • It comes off the window and works as a rod rack at your fishing spot.
