A.T.A.K. stands for Advanced Tactical Angling Kayak, and the 120 is the one that started it all. This 12-foot, 3-inch sit-on-top is a true open-water fishing platform: a stand-up deck, a high-low frame seat, and more rigging real estate than most boats twice its price. It is the flagship of the Wilderness Systems fishing line.

Who This Kayak Is For
The A.T.A.K. 120 fits the angler who fishes big, open water and wants a kayak that can be customized to the last detail. If you fish lakes, bays, and reservoirs, stand to sight cast, and run electronics, this platform was designed around you. It also suits the gear-heavy angler who brings everything and wants a place for it all.
It is not for the minimalist. At 86 pounds, this is not the boat you toss on the roof for a quick pond hop.
Stability and On-Water Performance
The 35-inch wide hull with a shallow arch bottom is built for stand-up stability. The open deck is wide and flat, with an EVA foam deck pad option for comfort underfoot. You can stand, cast, and fight fish without the tippy feeling of a narrower boat.
The wide hull does not track like a touring kayak, and it will not win any races. The open bow and stern design also lets water wash over in chop, so this is a fair-weather open-water boat, not a rough-water specialist.

Comfort and Seating
The AirPro MAX seat is the star of the show. It is a framed seat that adjusts between high and low positions, with 3D mesh fabric that breathes and drains. The high position is great for casting and pedaling sight lines. The low position drops your center of gravity when the wind comes up.
The seat slides on tracks for trim, and the whole thing removes easily for transport.
Storage and Rigging
This is where the A.T.A.K. shines. SlideTrax gear rails run the length of the boat for rod holders, camera mounts, and fish finder arms. The Flex Pod OS electronics console in the center hatch accepts a fish finder with a transducer that deploys through a scupper. A covered bow hatch with a bucket keeps tackle organized up front, and the oversized rear tankwell swallows a crate or cooler.
A secondary transducer scupper behind the seat fits larger transducers like side-imaging units. The hull is also set up for a motor, with a transom-style stern that takes electric power.

Honest Drawbacks
Eighty-six pounds is heavy for car-topping, and the wide hull catches wind on open water. The open bow and stern let water in during chop, so you will get wet in rough conditions. Some versions of the A.T.A.K. 120 have been discontinued and package details vary by dealer, so confirm exactly what is included before you buy.
