Who This Kayak Is For

This kayak fits the angler who plans to fish with an electric motor, whether a stern-mount trolling motor or a bow-mount setup. It also works for paddlers who want a big, stable deck and plan to add power later. If you have been coming out of a bass boat and want familiar control with kayak simplicity, the SuperFish 108 speaks your language.

Stability and Standing

The cathedral-style hull is wide and flat, and it shows. Standing feels natural, and the reinforced front platform doubles as a casting deck. At 37.4 inches wide, this is a boat you can move around in, which matters when you are netting fish or reaching for gear. The tradeoff is speed: it is not a fast paddling hull, but with a motor that stops mattering.

Comfort and Seat

The 360-degree swivel seat is the headline feature for comfort. Being able to rotate and face any direction is a big deal when you are fighting a fish around the bow or grabbing something from the tankwell. The seat is elevated stadium-style, so visibility is good and your legs do not cramp up on long days.

Storage and Rigging

You get a large forward storage area that doubles as a standing platform, a rear tankwell, multiple flush-mount rod holders, and industry-standard track rails for accessories. The built-in electronics and inspection ports make wiring a fish finder or lights clean and simple. Bow and stern four-point motor mounts give you options for where the motor lives.

Motor Setup and Performance

This is where the SuperFish 108 earns its name. The Smooth Move foot steering system is designed for motor use, so you can keep your hands on the rod while the motor moves you. Note that the motor is sold separately, so factor that into your budget. As a paddle kayak it is serviceable, but this hull is happiest with power.

Honest Drawbacks

At 149.25 pounds with the seat, this is a heavy kayak. The dual Wheel in the Keel system helps a lot at the ramp, but you are not cartopping this solo without a plan. It is also not a cheap way into kayak fishing once you add a motor, battery, and electronics. For the battery, I recommend the WattCycle 12V 100Ah mini LiFePO4 battery with Bluetoothit runs most 12V trolling motors up to 55lb thrust plus a fish finder, and it’s compact and light. And if you are a paddling purist, look elsewhere: this hull is designed around power, and paddling it long distances is slow work.
