This isn’t a kayak. It’s a floating party that happens to have pedal drives. The Hobie Mirage iTrek Fiesta is a 15 foot inflatable with room for four people, powered by two MirageDrive GT pedal units with Kick-Up Fins. It packs into a rolling bag, inflates fast, and turns any calm bay or lake into a group outing. And yes, you can fish from it.

Who the iTrek Fiesta is for

Families and friend groups, first and foremost. If your perfect day involves four people, a cooler, and nowhere to be, the Fiesta is purpose-built for you. It’s also great for resorts, rental fleets, and anyone who wants to get kids or non-paddlers on the water with zero learning curve. Anglers should think of it as a social fishing platform: perfect for a relaxed group trip where fishing happens, not a hardcore solo fishing machine.

Stability: a floating dock

At 15 feet long and 80 inches wide with a triple-chamber, diagonal drop-stitch hull, the Fiesta is one of the most stable kayaks ever made. It feels like standing on a floating dock. Kids can move around, dogs can sprawl out, and nobody’s going swimming unless they want to. The EVA deck pad gives sure footing everywhere. This is the boat you hand to nervous first-timers with total confidence.

Seating and social layout

Four aluminum-frame seats with breathable mesh and built-in cup holders come standard, and they’re genuinely comfortable for all-day lounging. The clever trick is the front two seats: they reverse to face backward, creating social seating where everyone faces each other. That’s the floating picnic table mode, and it’s fantastic. A detachable rudder with fingertip steering keeps the big hull tracking straight and makes maneuvering easy, and it works for right or left handed skippers.

MirageDrive pedal power

The two included MirageDrive GT units with Kick-Up Fins are the same proven drives Hobie has refined for years. They’re efficient, quiet, and the Kick-Up Fins deflect over shallow obstacles instead of breaking. The pedals adjust to fit different leg lengths, so everyone from teens to adults can drive. You can add two more MirageDrive units as an option, which turns it into a four-pedal powerhouse. A three-piece SUP paddle is included for backup and for paddling it as a bare hull.

Hobie’s fin drive also has a meaningful edge over the propeller-style pedal drives most other brands use, and it shows up in shallow water. A propeller typically sticks down a foot or slightly more below the hull and needs a foot of depth or more to spin freely: run skinny and you are either dragging it through the bottom or pulling the whole drive up. Hobie’s fins do not have that problem. They can lay almost flat against the underside of the hull and still flutter enough to keep you moving. You can pedal through water so shallow a propeller drive would be stuck in it.

Setup and what’s included

It inflates with the included high-pressure hand pump, and Hobie also throws in a high-volume 12V electric pump, which makes setup genuinely fast. Everything packs into a rolling storage bag. The rear cargo area has bungee tie-downs for coolers and crates, there are five carry handles, and locking valves keep the chambers sealed. The 550 denier PVC hull is tough, and the whole package is built to take family-level abuse.

Fishing from the Fiesta

Can you fish from it? Sure, and it’s fun for the right kind of trip. The pedal drives leave your hands free, the platform is stable enough to stand and cast, and there’s room for coolers, crates, and four people’s worth of rods. It’s ideal for a casual group outing where everyone drops a line. What it’s not is a dedicated fishing kayak. There’s no built-in rod storage, no gear tracks, and no fish finder rigging. Serious anglers will miss those things. Think of it as a party barge that fishes, not a fishing boat that parties.

Honest drawbacks

Hobie was bought out by Bass Pro Shops in 2026. There has been a period here in 2026 where parts have been scarce for pedal drives during the transition period. This has prevented many from purchasing. However, some dealers are starting to get parts in stock. Before purchasing in 2026 verify that you can find parts like replacement mirage drive fins. In 2027 we imagine parts will be much more accessible. We have spoken with the company on this topic. We are very confident in the brand.

The price is the first thing to swallow. This is premium Hobie territory, and it only includes two pedal drives for four seats. The extra two drives cost more. It’s big to inflate, big to dry, and big to haul to the water, even packed in its bag. At 105 pounds fully rigged, you won’t be carrying it far. The 80 inch beam catches wind like a sail, so breezy days mean more pedaling. And it’s strictly a calm-water craft. Chop, current, and surf are not its friends.
