Who This Kayak Is For
This is for the sight-casting angler, the inshore fisherman working flats and marshes, and anyone who wants a SUP-like fishing platform with real kayak bones. If you stand 80 percent of the day and only sit to rest or run between spots, the Terra 116 was designed with you in mind.
Stability and Standing
The no-flex deck is the headline. Reinforced and rock solid underfoot, it gives you a firm casting platform with premium deck padding that also dampens sound, which matters when you are poling up to spooky redfish. The 35-inch beam and flat deck make standing feel secure, and the boat stays maneuverable in tight backwaters.

Comfort and Seat
The 8-position Horizon Pro Seat is a standout, with high, low, and tilt settings plus armrests. Being able to fine-tune your sitting position matters on a boat you also stand on all day, because you can drop the seat low for pedaling or running, then flip it out of the way to cast. A removable under-seat storage bin keeps tackle close.
Propulsion and Rigging
One thing to know up front: the base configuration does not include a pedal drive. The hull is pedal-drive ready, paddle-ready, and motor-ready with a bow motor mount, so you choose your propulsion. That flexibility is great, but price out the drive you want before you buy. Rigging is well thought out: three Power Plates for electrical installs, a fish finder mount that fits 12-inch transducers, dual stern anchor-pole mounts, and premium EVA deck padding throughout.
Honest Drawbacks
The biggest one is the drive situation. Calling it a PDL kayak while the drive ships separately can confuse buyers, so read the configuration carefully. At 66 pounds for the hull and 77 rigged, it is reasonably light, but the 475-pound capacity means you need to count everything (you, seat, drive, motor, battery, gear) against that number and leave a margin. For the battery, I recommend the WattCycle 12V 100Ah mini LiFePO4 battery with Bluetoothit runs most 12V trolling motors up to 55lb thrust plus a fish finder, and it’s compact and light. As a newer brand, CAJO also has a smaller dealer and used market footprint than legacy brands, which matters if you like to try before you buy.
