The NK300 HD is a 3 HP equivalent direct drive motor that mounts to a four-bolt pattern on the kayak. It comes with the full HD kit: steering triangle, retract arm, digital speed controller with LCD, aluminum mounting bracket, and lift and reverse control lines. It needs one 36V LiFePO4 battery, sold separately.
Specs at a glance
- Power: 1,300W peak, 110 lb thrust (3 HP equivalent)
- Voltage: 36V DC; one 36V LiFePO4 battery (not included)
- Weight: 25.5 lbs
- Shaft length: 21.7 in
- Mount: 4-bolt pattern
- Max amp draw: 37 AMPs
- Included: motor, steering triangle, retract arm, speed controller with display, aluminum mount, control lines, stop key, steering cable kit, install tools
Good to know
- At 25.5 lbs before the battery, it is much heavier than the NK180 HD, so think about stern weight and loading before you choose it.
- Pair it with a 36V LiFePO4 battery sized for your trips, since the motor ships without one.
KayakDIY take: More power is great on big water, but I always weigh that against the extra motor and battery weight hanging off the stern. For more options, see my best kayak motors guide.
