The Cruise 3.0 FP is a 24V pod drive mounted under the hull. It has built-in GPS and an onboard computer that shows speed, power, charge and range. It produces 142 lbs of static thrust, and the remote throttle is sold separately.
Specs at a glance
- Input power: 3,000 W
- Propulsive power: 1,530 W (comparable to a 6 HP outboard)
- Static thrust: 142 lbs
- Voltage: 24V
- Weight: 28.22 lbs
- Included: fixed pod motor, 4.4 m cable set with main switch, propeller
- Throttle: remote throttle not included
Good to know
- Budget for a remote throttle, since one is not included.
- Check that your hull can take a fixed pod install, which is a more permanent job than a transom outboard.
KayakDIY take: This is a sailboat drive, but it shows how far electric propulsion has come. For more options, see my best kayak motors guide.
