What’s in this video

I built a handy rinse kit that doubles as a camping shower, using a pump sprayer, a hose fitting, a hose clamp and a faucet sprayer. I go through the install, test it and then put it to work. It needs no batteries. You just pump up the tank and you’ve got water pressure, and it doesn’t need special filling adapters like the name brand Rinse Kit.

I use it to rinse sand off, clean pets and rinse my rods and reels with fresh water so they don’t rust. I rinse my gear even after freshwater trips, because some lakes still cause corrosion. If you want warm showers, paint the tank black so the sun heats the water. Stick around for the surprise at the end.

Key moments

Quick takeaways

  • Parts: a pump sprayer, hose fitting, hose clamp and faucet sprayer.
  • It's human powered: pump the tank for pressure, no batteries or special fill adapters.
  • Rinse your rods and reels after freshwater trips too, since some lakes still cause corrosion.
  • Paint the tank black to let the sun heat the water for a camping shower.
