Pelican Strike 100x Fishing Setup with a DIY Anchor Pole
I rig up a lightweight Pelican Strike 100x for fishing with custom rod holders, a seat upgrade and a DIY anchor pole, then test it.
What’s in this video
The Pelican Strike 100x is a simple, durable, lightweight and affordable angler kayak with room for mods. Specs: 325 lb capacity, 30.5 inches wide, 10 feet long and 53 lbs. For fit reference, I’m 6 ft 2 in and 190 lbs.
I prep the kayak, build custom rod holders from Home Depot PVC, add a seat and accessories, then put together a DIY anchor pole from a 4x4x4 electrical box, paracord, a Harken 22mm exit block, a fiberglass pole and a Nite Ize Figure 9 carabiner. Then I put it on the water to test. Heads up: modding your kayak may void part or all of the warranty.
