Boonedox Kayak Gear: The Complete Guide

T-Bone bed extenders, Groovy Landing Gear, rudders, consoles and rigging. Built heavy, built in aluminum, and on my own truck and kayak.

Why I run Boonedox gear

Boonedox is one of those brands I used before I even knew who made it. I run their stern mount on my Hobie Pro Angler. It attaches to the plate that covers the rudder lines and handle, and you can use it for a Power-Pole Micro or, like I did, a transom mount with a trolling motor.

For hauling long kayaks in a short bed truck, my pick is the Boonedox T-Bone hitch extender. I prefer it because it is lightweight, all corrosion resistant aluminum, and I own several. At ICAST 2023 I walked their booth: Groovy Landing Gear wheels that mount to the kayak and flip up on the water, a center console that bridges the gunnels so your sonar sits where you can see it, and a bracket that keeps your battery and sonar parts up out of any water in the hull. Everything is built well. Buy it once and you are done.

How to read this page: I own and use the Boonedox stern mount and T-Bones. Everything else is grouped by what it does. Many of these parts are made for specific kayaks, so check the fit on each product page.

Which Boonedox gear do you need?

  • Long kayak, short bed truck: a T-Bone bed extender.
  • Tired of carrying a separate cart: Groovy Landing Gear, with kits for Hobie Pro Angler, Shoalie and track-mounted setups.
  • Better steering: a Boonedox rudder for Hobie Pro Angler, Old Town, NuCanoe or Native Slayer Max.
  • Electronics up front: the Slotted Console and riser kits.
  • Rigging at home: an adjustable rigging stand.
